Need to pick a few 'brains' out there - having riden a 1150GSA for 7/8 weeks through Southern Africa earlier this year, I'm very sorely tempted to sell off my '00 1150GS and move up. So what do you think should I be realisically be asking for it from a private buyer?

SPEC as follows:

'00 1150 GS Midnight Black
1 previous owner / I've had it for past 4 years
26K miles
Full BMW System luggage + BMW inner bags
Metzeler Tourance / front & rear / recently fitted
Full Service History
Goodies added:
Pyramid rear hugger
Clear indicator lens
Tinted Emax Screen
Adventure beak end protector
Spots
Hepco & Becker chrome engine bars
Wunderlich locking plate to cover removed pillion seat + standard seat

bike has seen no winter/wet use for past 4 years / & no off road

£???????..........

Me again

Bu*ger - can't seem to get the hang of posting photos yet! Even though you can't see it - trust me you're missing a treat - this is probably one of the best examples for its year around. Looks 1/2 years old at most!

You do know you can edit your original post to stick in the missing bits?

Mystic, what do you see in the ADV model that you feel is better than your very clean and tidy 1150?. :thumb
As you dont go offroad you dont need the low 1st gear and you would lose the o/d 6th gear.Do you need the 30l tank range very often?.

The book price for a Y2K 1150 is about £4400 i have been told.Yours looks to be worth a couple of hundred more due to general condition.Best advice is to strip the extras off and sell them seperately. There is of course the added problem of time of year and the fact that BWM dealers seem to have a glut of both 1150s and 1150ADV in stock, further reducing residual values.
Whatever you do,good luck.

Thanks 4 your thoughts......

Thanks Colbin

Hard to quantify ... but you make some valid points ... guess I'm feeling time for a change - I just loved riding the 1150GSA in Africa this year - and I just don't like the look / aethetically / of the 1200GS. You're probably right about not being the best time of year to part with it

Could have got me "handle" right mutter mutter.Colbin indeed. :mmmm :D
I feel skuttled. :D
Know what you mean, not keen on the 1200 myself.I've got an 1150 and am planning to convert it towards ADV spec (33l tank, seat and plastics) over winter.Cheers,Col.
