Lone Rider have the moto bags that are semi rigid that mount directly to the GSA OEM pannier mounts. No additional scafolding required. Only released yesterday and 20% off but still £919 a pair
Funnily enough I’ve been looking at the X Bags recently- I have a 1250GS with the Vario mounts but no panniers. Personally I don’t want the big metal box panniers - filtering on the M25 / M1 would be a nightmare. I like the idea of the Wunderlich X Bags or the Shad TR40 (they seem practically identical) and if I got them I was leaning towards the 3P mounting system as they seem a bit of a sleeker look when left on the bike.
It seems fairly simple to mount the racks but it’s been mentioned about moving the BMW side case mounts - what does that involve?
I do like to look of the Lone Rider rackless ‘plug and play’ panniers but they are silly money - Apduro only do the hard version and not the semi rigid which is annoying!
Removing the original mounts is straightforward - a few screws, and a couple of cable ties to snip. There are a couple of YouTube videos on it. The loose cables can be tidied up by tucking them under the pillion seat.

Have a look at Givi. Their Canyon range of softbags will fit the GS. I use the 35 litre bags on my V85TT.
There seem to be various mounting options incl one that will fit the BMW vario fixing
Ahhh.. okay - I was wondering- i had all the fairing panels off at the weekend fitting a Innovv camera and couldn’t see any wires - thought I’d missed something
