Soft luggage security.

This has been done to death on other forums, but FWIW I have a couple of light cable locks for when I have to leave my bike out of sight at dodgey looking border crossings, although I rarely use them. When I stop for lunch I find somewhere where I can keep an eye on my stuff, and always take my tankbag with my documents, electronics etc with me at all times. If you think hard panniers with cheap locks provide additional security you're dreaming. I never leave bags on the bike overnight though.

I don’t leave soft luggage on the bike overnight but if I’m parking somewhere in daylight hours I’m happy to leave panniers and tail pack on it.

Anything valuable goes in my tankbag and that comes off and gets carried wherever I go.
