Just seen an article on MCN, this looks pretty good value since the 1200 sportster is up to £10K.

With 20% Vat and 25% EU duty plus 6% UK Duty plus dealer margin and shipping - these things must be leaving the factory at around 50p

I appreciate I’m not the target market but that’s the first ‘modern’ Harley I’d look twice at (irrespective of price) - sorta beefed up Sportster (which is a good thing in my book).
A set of drag bars and I’d be a happy boy.

I still wouldn’t actually buy one though

I reckon you are right, because that looks exactly the same as a street bob...Quite confusing really.

I tried a few HD softails last year and of all of them I enjoyed the 107ci Street Bob the most, and the new Softail Standard appears to be made in the same mould.

Reading the MCN article about it, they seem worried that as it's a few hundred quid more expensive than the Triumph Bobber, HD will lose sales to Triumph. I still see HD as a far more premium brand though, and I'd thought the idea of getting a proper big twin HD for only a few pounds more than a Bobber would easily rob Triumph of sales. Time will tell
