Nice hollywood bars, wish I'd gone for those. i've put drag bars on my 48!

That's a lovely bike you should be well chuffed with it. I've thought about a sportster for cruising on.

Hahahahahaha........I predict within 12 months you are back on a GS thoroughly regretting your decision and a lot poorer :D.

A Sporty is a entry level Harley, used by a lot of wives/girlfriends as they are small and the lightest twin. I bet in 12 months you will want a big twin, or GS. what you should have is both, I've owned and ridden Harleys now for 33 years wouldn't be without one, But I've got BMW's aswell. depends what sort of riding you want to do. I wouldn't want to go to Italy. Austria and Slovenia on a Sporty, good luck and enjoy it, they do hold their price. :moped:

Entry level...blah, blah, blah......girl's bike....blah, blah, blah........can't do miles on them...blah, blah, blah....

Bollocks:D. If the size suits you you can have as much fun on a Sporty as any other bike....distance is only limited by comfort...as on any bike..and if you pick them up cheap enough...and get bored..they're a great way to dip your toe into the "custom" water....imagination is your limit....here are two "Sportys" in build locally...have fun.

Love 'em, especially the second one with suspension:D Having said that the first one could be fine with the sprung seat and it looks great.

Nice and simple with no unnecessary bling -I hope:thumb2

WOW! Two very nice Sporties there :thumb2

I love the lines of the hard tail and it looks as if it has a sensible size fuel tank too :beerjug:

I kept the GS and added a Harley...mine being a 1200 Nightster!

Since you have the means that is a nice option. Harley's and BMW's compliment each other well IMO.
The Evo Sportster engines seem to be very durable. I met a person at a rally that had one of the older Evo Sportsters, may have been an 1100. It had a sidecar on it for his wife and she weighed *at least* 300 pounds. They'd ridden it all around the US and Mexico. It had 110,000 miles at the time and he said it had not needed anything done to the engine or transmission.
