We stayed here last week to accommodate a trip over the Timmelsjoch pass.

OK - it's not as busy as in winter but in summer you get an Otztal card which gives you free use of various facilities

We used the card to get hardtail mountain bikes, go up to the middle station on the southern lift and then descend on the new Teare line descent.

Total cost with the card €5 - for a bike helmet

The same lift takes you to the top station where the new James Bond has been filmed (5* restaurant not included in the Otztal card ).

If you like a bit of MTB, well worth a day out of your trip

We came over the Timmelsjoch in early June and there was no accommodation open in Hochgurgl , Obergurgl or Solden, it was like the scene out of a wild west ghost town -the only thing missing was the tumbleweed.

We ended up in Oetz before we found an open hotel , mind you it was a cracking one
