Hi
I have just purchased a 1989 R100GS fuel tank for my ST. I nkow the dual seat from the R100GS won't fit due to longer subframe and differant rear mudguard, dut does anyone know if there would be a problem fitting a solo seat from the GS (so I get the bit that goes up the tank) onto the ST?

The usual way of doing it is to grind the loop of the top of the gs tank and then fit the solo seat for the g/s. You'll need the rack as well.

The gs seat has a high backrest that fixes you in one position. It isn't very comfortable.

good luck.

Just fitted a new Siebenrock seat foam and cover to my G/S PD to replace a custom made Corbin style foam and cover

Very pleased with the result - the foam seems to be dual density , with a soft surface that gets progressively firmer, and the cover is a nice resilient material.

Result is a very comfortable seat - better than the old plus an Airhawk, so you can probably forget what you have read about other seats and take a look at what Siebenrock have to offer - they have a new shop too, and are easy to deal with, with quick answers to any questions.
