I'm considering putting a solo seat on my '89 GSPD.
Have never had anything to do with them so would like some feedback please.
Do they reqiure their own mounting/locking brackets?
Types available, pros and cons for each?
Are there low profile ones available? ( I struggle to get both pegs on the ground, hence the user name )

Thanks, Barry.

To my knowledge there are three available and I've experienced them all.

Touratech Single Seat (£250): This comes as a Single Seat with permanent mid-rack extension (well actually its a plate with drilled holes in it. I found this to be OK comfort-wise (two-hour comfy), slightly taller than standard seat though the foam is harder so the seat doesn't compress down as much as standard.

BMW OE (305 Euros): Supplied to me by Siebenrock in Germany. This is supplied as a kit with the mid-rack extension with the necessary hardware to fit to the existing rack and lock. Made from the same slippery material as the standard seat though it does have a raised lip at the rear to prevent you sliding all the way off. I had this seat re-upholstered and a gel-pad inserted but other than make it extremely tall it did not improve comfort for me - looks nice though.

Corbin ($299US + Rack): I've only experienced this one in dual seat form but it is without doubt the king of seats. It has a wider dish shaped saddle, about 1/2 an inch lower than the OE but because its wider you won't appreciate that. Its definately a touring seat, if you are prone to getting down and dirty with your PD this seat being wider won't help in the standing up on your pegs department. You'll need to source the mid-rack from BMW seperately.

Cheers Judge for a brilliant reply, they look sooo comfy to.

All the best, Barry.
