Unplugged the battery charger and wheeled my 1200 out of the garage for the first time since November.

Battery OK

Started OK

Ticks over OK

Oil OK

Brakes OK

Clutch OK

Auxillary power points OK

2 PSI down on the tyres - disgraceful!

I know, I know, I know....

New job, walk to work, work, work, business travel, work, divorced (daughter every second week-end), central London location.... Still it's got 8,000 on the clock between July and November so I can't complain too much.

You don't have to bring the bike:
You can buy German air for GS tyres in a box! :bounce1 :) Liv.

Oh no....I've used English air....do you think the self-diagnostic will spot it and shut the engine off? Perhaps the brakes won't work now or the paint will peel off

All together now......You wouldn't get this problem on an 11xx, quality's gone right downhill, not a proper BWM, serves you right for buying a plastic poser, you're being used as a development tester, any such problems have long been developed out of the 11xx................................................

English Air!! Very dodgy. Like as not you'll go into the garage and find a pool of air underneath your bike. If you do, mop up the spill and fill with proper Din quality :bow German air ( your dealer will supply you at £40 per litre) produced from fermented sauerkraut.

Just do so with the garage door open.

I'm new to this forum and am still waiting for my 12GS (due March), but I've experienced exactly the same problem on my Honda Firestorm.

Apparently, some rogue dealers are using English air straight from the atmosphere - i.e. not even the bottled stuff! :nono Honda Genuine Air is specially made to be more dense and so not escape via osmosis from the tyres. I guess the same might be true of BMW.

Hope tis helps,

Malc :bounce1 :bounce1

All of you obviously have missed one major factor...the seasonal factor...
Yes that's right! Summer Air during the warm months and Winter Air during the cooler and cold months.
See,... hear in the 'States,us bikers know that as the seasons change so do our "tire air needs". As for example,in October last year, bikers made a pilgrimage to local "Air Filling Stations" where they exhaust last season's air mixture from their tires and install the following next "season's air mixture" in preperation of the following season. Hense,Autum Air is replaced with Winter Air.
With the many different "air producers/manufacturers" here State side, finding the many needed different "air season or nationality producers" is very easy. The cost of changing from one "nationality or season" to another is quite cheap! The problem we seem to have is knowing which "seasonal air product" to choose and use.
Some of us find that using the OEM air, as in German for BMW motorcycles, get satisfactory results. And occasionally someone will install Italian Air on accident and find their results rather "explosive" but overwhelming warm hearted and friendly. The tires do manage to give off a slight "garlicy" aroma after a hard ride, making one somewhat "hungry" I guess is the best way to explain!
But remember, proper "seasonal air" changes will give the best performance overall.

Five hours in the p*ssing rain.

Navigation, lights, heated grips and electric jacket all fired up.

Still nothing wrong......Now I am really worried!

PS However my dish washer has apparently packed up.
