Sony Handycam

Anybody use a Sony Handycam with a battery NP-FV50 fitted.

I bought one for my daughter some time ago and I can't get the battery to take charge.

I just want to try a spare charged battery first to make sure the camera isn't F*%$£d.

why not run the camera off the charger to test that and test the battery with a volt meter..?

USB charge is a trickle and doesn't illuminate the charge light for a couple of hours on charge.
