Now I am riding into work, using the bike for two hours every day, my left thumb joint is getting really sore. I have always found the clutch a bit stiff. in addition, the clutch lever adjusted as close to the bar as possible is still not close enough.

Has anyone cured this problem? Would adjusting the bite point help?

Maybe an aftermarket clutch lever is the solution, like this:

Is it the span thats causing the problem? with the lever adjusted in as you say it is actually quite close the bars, i dont reckon another lever would be much different. It should'nt be that stiff that it's causing you pain with repetative use has the fluid etc been changed recently. It sounds to me as if you have ladies hands sir:hide

Turns out I did have girls hands! Another few rides and the pains have gone. just needed to strengthen my grip!
