My missus always worries that one day I will end up lying in hospital somewhere after having an accident and she won't find out for hours because it's not obvious who should be contacted in case of an emergency.

So the stand at the London MCN bike show from

http://www.ufoundmytag.com/shop/sportssoscall

caught my attention as it seemed to be the answer to her concerns. I picked up the "Biker Guardian" pack which consists of:-

  • a wristband
  • a helmet sticker
  • a key tag
  • a wallet card

When you register, you can list up to 5 contacts who will all be contacted in case of an emergency - plus you can add your blood group and list allergies etc or any other details you would like emergency services to know about - the details are only released to emergency services and are not used for any other purposes.

I have no affiliation with this organisation although I did have an opportunity to speak to the owner, John, as I had fired off an email query regarding filling in some details on the web site. He sounds like a genuine bloke and was very eager to help and get feedback on the product.

MOD - please free to move this post to another thread if more appropriate - I just thought that it's nearly clothing, and it certainly does offer protection :-)

Check out Real Rider. This has an app that uses the gps, gyro & accelerometer in the smartphone. If you have an accident the app registers the movement of the phone and contacts emergency services that then ring the phone, if there is no answer it sends paramedics to the location of the phone.
It also can record your routes and share with others etc.
