Hi Digger06,

I don't usually bother taking any spares for a trip of that length, but there again, I have breakdown cover for the wholoe of Europe, including non-EU countries.

When are you planning on visiting Bulgaria? I will be riding to Moldova again next year and will probably return back using the "southern" route via Bulgaria, rather than the "Northern" route via Ukraine that I did last year.

ps if anyone wants to tag along, theres no boardin, got a house there, lager 32p a bottle, whisky 3 quid a bottle ,6 mile from beach and set in a national park, room for 4/5,only 2 of us going

Hi Digger06,

spares

go buy an electric tyre pump, remove all the plastic junk from the outside of it, hey presto half the size it was originally!!
2 charley boorman tyre levers, handy when your subframe snaps,go to kwik fit, give the fitter a fiver and ask him for a few proper tyre plug repairs of the mushroom variety, and a can of glue for a permanent repair at the roadside, the most common sockets in your 3/8 drive socket set,10,12,13,17,19mm, allen keys,a macdonalds fresh orange bottle filled with southern comfort, pliers , screwdrivers, cable ties, gaffa tape, combo spanners10.12.13,,17,19mm,spare bulbs, bin liners, clear ones so you can see inside, water bottle, first aid kit removed from the box and put in a plastic bag,a large army tarp and string, try doing a roadside repair in the rain.
6 feet of electric wire, fairly thin 14/0.30, insulating tape, spare fuses, engine oil in lucozade botlles, it stores easy and you can throw it when empty, tiny can wd40 try dyas the ironmonger99p,a very small container of hand cleaner saves your gloves, plastic metal, o rings for the fuel lines, compass for when sat nav goes mad, bottle opener.
is this enough?regards Paul
ps it would also be prudent to pack a final drive bearing and seal.

Length of stainless lock wire, spare fuel pump relay (mine went recently), latex gloves. I think Steptoe may also carry a spare Hall Sensor & clutch slave cylinder?
