Needed a new oil pressure transducer/switch for my Gs.
Apparently its the same as the one used in the cars, same part# an all. From the car dealer £5.80 from bike dealer £26..I wasnt bothered cos it was a warranty claim, but it just goes to show how us bikers get ripped off..Honda are no better either.

Bloody outrageous! Try contacting BMW and ask them to explain the difference. The reply should be interesting.
Mind you they'll probably tell us that it's a pricing error...................
and put UP the price of the car one!!

Let me be clear on this - are you quoting the prices of identical parts, both supplied by BMW? Or a switch from Halfords compared with an OE part?

Mike:confused:

I would be surprised if the parts distribution system was smart enough to dual price the same part number depending on whether it was supplied to a bike dealer or a car dealer. The bike and car dealers like Coopers of Reading would really get confused!

It was the BMW(mondial) guy who came round to change the switch that told me this...He showed me the invoice from the BMW car dealer..£5.80. Sed it was identical to the bike one..he'd phoned the bike dealer and got quoted £26.
(Two seperate dealers)
The car dealer was the local dealer up the road...dont know who the bike dealer was. Maybe I'll phone around tmorrow just outa curiosity..cud be interesting.
