Hi this winter it's time to fix that second gear slipping problem on my '99 1100 GS. Thinking of buying a secondhand output shaft from Mo+6rworks (or similar vendor) and having the gears undercut before throwing it in my M97 box with a new selector fork. Do you all think that will work... or is the reworking unnecessary expense ? If I decide to do this what price can I be expected to find, what kind of lead time and who does this work (specially on BMW boxes) in the UK ?
Thanks.

Many years ago, I had the gears ( actually it's not the "gears" but the gear pawls) undercut on my Honda by a company called "Four N Mores" in the States. Recently, an expert in the mark & multi bike owner, rode my bike to a rally. On dismounting he said: "Sweet gearbox !" unknowing what work had been done. What results would be noticed on a BMW box, I shall leave for the experts to advise...

On reading that most excellent article, my term "gear pawls" are referred to as "engagement dogs". Hope this hasn't caused any confusion......
