Speed camera database (2610)

Quick question - possibly of the numpty variety - If the 2610 only supports up to 500 waypoints I suppose you cannot load the whole speed camera database as I assume there are many more than 500 cameras all over the UK? Does that also mean that if I wanted to upload any other POI's like all the BMW dealers it's a trade-off?

I'm pretty sure the database is a map overlay, not waypoints.

Yep..they don't count towards the waypoints.

As it's an overlay (IE effectively just a tranparent map) I wouldn't have though they even count as P.O.I's.

Does the system warn you in any way when you approach a speed camera?

I see TomTom has just released a patch which will alert you.

I probably missed something, which camera database are you talking about for the 2610

Is it one you can buy / download / ... ?

it works fine, and you get little pink/green blobs appear on the map. I've set the detail for poi's to disappear at >3mi otherwise it gets a bit crowded in towns.

Usefulness is dubious as you basically need to keep looking at the screen to see if there's a blob comng up.
