Thats pretty shit luck and as you said they was hid well , they have 2 bmw1000rr,s with the smallest amount of police markings on the bikes you have ever seen on there fleet now too , apparently there hiting all that area over the next few mths the copper was saying in the petrol station :)

How were they recording the speed, I had some mates done in Wales many years ago and although they were convicted (stitched up) in the local Magistrates court their solicitor reckoned of they would almost certainly win if they appealed, the Wales Police have a habbit of taking the piss.

In their case the plod had used vascar and had times them over a mere 0.1 of a mile (far less than guidelines I believe) in this case as little as half a second innacuracy on the operators button pressing could skew the speed by about 20mph.

They were also way back of the road hidden in trees and looking through a narrow angle, which may also make their distance markers innacurate with the skew of the angle, and to make it worse they had to look backwards over their shoulder to see through this gap and operate the equipment mounted in the front of the car.

The second bike was never even clocked, just "assumed" to be doing exactly the same speed as the first one, the conviction was more due to the locals being pissed off with bikes hammering through their villages and a conviction gauranteed for anyone the Police brought in.

Although a gamble asking to be heard in court may well get minor cases dropped, and to be honest if more people did this the system would fall apart as the courts would just not have the time to deal with everyone.

I know the law is the law and all that guff but again they seem to be targeting the mass numbers rather than the small minority thay really do harm (to our reputation) by zapping past cars at well into 3 figures, speeding / wheelying or generally being a nuisance through towns and villages. Though I guess they must have already cleared up every assualt / robbery / rape / mugging and murder in Wales if they have time to focus on this :nenau

Motorbike Terror !

This could be one reason for the police cameras in the brecon beacons.
This is a letter in the Brecon and radnor express.april 21st 2011. was writen by someone who proberly lives nearly a mile from the main brecon to llandovery road, so we must be wrecking his life by passing through. with our Terror machines.

FINE WEATHER FOR MOTORBIKE TERROR.
Now the weather is improving we are yet again plagued -
"with terror motorcyclists" racing on the roads of Powys.
These are gangs of motorcyclists who drive in a wreckless manner with no regard to road safety. speed limits or other road users.

Their only intention is to use the highways here as a race track, where they create considerable dangers not only to themselves but other motorists and pedestrians alike.

The other serious problem they produce is excessive noise, caused often by the illigal modification of the exhaust systems on their motorbikes. Their antics bring misery to everyone who uses the road and olso unfortunate people who live along the roads they use. It seems contemptible that a group like this can create so much suffering for so many.

The police last year did make some ettempt to curb their "activities" unfortunatley it was not sufficient to end this terror.
Possibly the police did not recieve enough funding to stamp out this menace.
Therefore it is essential that the Welsh Assembly Government provide the police this year with sufficient funding for their needs.
Many of the holidaymakers who are coming to Brecon, do not want their holiday destroyed by these rogue motorcyclists. It would be a serious blow to the economy here, if the peace and quiet our visitors sought was no longer available to them. thet may go elsewhere for future hoidays.
With the may Assembly elections, many of us would like to know how our candidates would deal with this problem. Perhaps they can put forward their proposals. I am certain that the candidate with the most effective answer will gain a number of votes. In the meantime most of us look forward to more action by the police, the local authority and other interested parties.
I urge all those suffering from this menace to contact their AM. their councillor and the police. every one must work together to stop the attack by these people on our way of life and the safety of our loved ones.

ALAN RIGBY Marr

Its just a wild gess but i don't think he's to keen on motorcyclists. !

I think he may also be prone to a bit of exageration.

I was out that way last week and I did not really come across very many other bikes, saw loads in the Abbergavveny "bike park" and a load more in the Garage at Crossgates but very few actually on the road, certainly not "gangs racing", although there is a tiny minority that are like that it is probably way below 1% of all bikers.

I know everyone with a noisy can finds it music to their ears, but unfortunately Joesph Public has a different taste in music and I think noise is our biggest enemy. I was out walking the dog a couple of weeks back in a wonderful beauty spot probably a good mile as the crow flies from the nearest road when the peace and tranquility was shattered by some dick caning a bike with a race can, you could hear him for bloody ages, it annoyed me as a biker, I bet a few of the ramblers and people on river boats may have felt like writing a letter to their MP because of that one noisy bike, although it was one annoying bike on a two hour walk, this would be written up as
gangs of motorcyclists who drive in a wreckless manner with no regard to road safety. speed limits or other road users.

To give Mr Rigby his due he at least notes the noisy exhausts as being illegally modified.

The worst thing is politicians listen to people like this, and that is bad news for us, noise limits, power limits, speed camera's :blagblah all stem from complaints such as Mr Rigby's.

The Police clampdowns are even worse for us, they always go for numbers to report back with, so instead of finding 5 or 6 c**** and throwing the book at them, they find a nice spot where almost every bike will probably be a few mph over the limit and report back that they caught 100 of these "gang members" at the weekend to appease Mr Rigby and co. (not to mention top up some coffers)

I actually think noise is responsible for 90% of the bad feeling, so many bikes sound like they are going far faster than they are and most non-bikers probably judge more on this than anything else, "if it is making that much noise it must be doing 150mph" four cylinder bikes by far being the worst, booming twins just sound loud and to many are less irkesome.

European motorcyclists seem to be far less self destructive to their own cause and benefit greatly with much less hassle from the feds and a much better relationship with the non-biking public

Perhaps we could all do a little to cause less frustration to Rigsby and co.

Don't think any of this is just limited to Wales. Only takes a few fast bikes to ride past a grumpy driver and you have complaints to the police galore.
The main road from Lincoln to Skegness is a favourite track for fast riders (and very nice it is too) but it only takes a couple of idiots doing mach 2 to create an image of recklessness to other road users.

Not only sports bikes either....aluminium-panniered german bikes are sometimes the culprit

Saying that, though, nothing sweeter than seeing a well-ridden bike weaving through heavy holiday traffic :thumb2

Fcuk him and his peace and quiet,

Plenty of kids in cars with dustbin cans hanging out the back as well.

I pay my tax's and spend plenty in Llandovery and all over,
ask the local bizness's how much they want us to go away.

If I see him driving his tractor/nissan micra down my street in the Port I'll set the local hoodies on him:thumb2

Fcuking nimby,fcuk off.

You are lucky Bluebird i think i might be passing his effing house, depending on which way i go to get to the A40.
If i knew where. maybe i should turn my ignition off and push my bike pass his house. just incase i give him a nervous break down.!

Really ~~~

Interesting to note that the complainant Mr Rigsby [Yes Miss Jones] lives in the village of Aberbran

Now, if perchance, anyone pops that village name into GoogleMaps, you'll note that between his village and the West Wales Racetrack [aka A40] there is an official Caravan Club Site listed.

Perhaps, someone should mention to him the damage that the tribes of Weekend Gypsies cause to a bikers limbs when they pull out/dawdle along et al causing all sort of low speed mayhem?

Or perhaps, the proprietor of said Caravan Club Site might be one and the same?

All these noisy race pipes will no doubt disturb the peace and quiet of his CUSTOMERS ??

I rest my case M'Lud
