Spine protectors?

Do you believe in covering your back?

Ride magazine did a test last year of leathers, textiles and armoured textiles. The leather was the best but armoured textiles weren't far behind in abrasion tests. The non-armoured textiles were total sh1te and wore through in seconds. Enough said I think, you must have decent armour in your textile gear for it to protect you properly.

I removed my original foam pad back protection from my textlies and now wear a Knox Ricochet 8-plate back protector whether in leathers or textiles, even for a trip to the shops. The day I forget to wear it will be the day I wish I hadn't, hence it is worn without fail. I doubt it would prevent my spine snapping on a kerb or lamp post etc but in a sliding fall on my back I hope to survive with my skin and spine intact. The only downside to it is my back soon gets roasting hot despite the vent flutes in the back protector.

I wish I had the Dainese style of armoured vest, when I buy new kit that will be top of the list.
