Sportster purchase help

If I was 6' plus and only had £4k to spend then I'd be looking for something other than a Harley Sportster. Maybe a an 1100 GS?

Well I finally rode one and tbh its OK and it fit so that is all fine. I think if I didn't get a sportster I probably would not bother getting anything else.

You must be able to find a rubber mount, FI 883 for under 4K?

As for daily commuting, i found the harley dunlop tyres disastrous in the wet. you can get alternatives though.

Suspension is terrible, so depending on your weight and how long you want your back to last, you might want to change the rear shocks.

If your committing, you'll want a half decent size tank so don't get anything modded with the 8ltr peanut tank, as you'll be at the petrol station every 65 miles.

If you're on FaceBook join the Sportster Sickness UK group. loads of helpful people and I've seen a 2008, 883 for just under £4k on there. https://www.facebook.com/groups/sportstersicknessuk
