My 1100 is a keeper, I've just fitted Wilbers and fancy fitting a pair of spot lights.

Anyone got any recommendations for the bar and suitable lights?

I thought about a Migsel light bar and a pair of Piaa spots from Nippy Norman?

Go and get big round spots from halfords and bolt them on to whatever bar you choose.I think you'll find the smash just as well as the expensive ones, and throw out just as much light:thumb2

vern my son
he has the biggest set of lamps ,ihave seen
but then again he is

I can wholeheartedly recommend the set up from 'how much' on this site....

The bar may not be as 'pretty' as the one from Migsel... it lacks the cut out that reminds you the bike is a GS... like you need reminding. but just looking at the cost... migsels bar costs 70 euro or £61.58 add to that the cost of the lamps and then the wiring loom plus the switch - which i see is £20 from nippy normans.

'How much' does the whole kit and caboodle for £89 - bar - lamps - switch and loom. (inc paypal fees and delivery)

2 wires to the battery and a 3rd wire soldered or otherwise connected into the +ve headlamp wire... the fuse and relay tucked into the gap under the tank.. thats covered by the seat. 2 bolts to hold it under the 'beak' and the switch (on my bike) attached next to the full beam switch on the LHS bar. and WOOSH!!!

can you tell I'm a well satisfied customer? I am.

This set-up is a genuine bargain. :thumb2

heres the same kit on an 1150 - http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1606145&postcount=1

this setup plus the brakelight LEDs and indicator brake/running lights from 'techno' have made a huge difference and improvement to the visibility and night time usability of my bike. I've given up on the idea of fitting a hid system... the bike just doesn't need it now.

something like this??

Ring fog lights, oval chrome tube(to hide the wires) and bit of wiring and a light switch on the bars, hey presto

i have them switched independent of the lights as they are fog, and law requires them to be.:ronno

I have one of Daves (How much) lightbars on my 1100, fitted with a pair of FF50 lamps set at the same level as dipped beam, in conjunction with HID main lamp, I can see fine and the setup looks good too.:thumb2

I did consider one of those light bars when i was rigging mine up, although look the nutts, decided on oval tube so i could run the wires through so they are less noticeable.

i also made my own alloy surround protectors, the ones in the pic are mk1s i have made some bigger ones, i dont think they would stand up to abuse, i wil take a pic of them side on tomorrow.

migsel bar and halfords mini spots wired into main beam with halfords relay kit
also a pair of led marker lights, less the bar less then £100.00 the lot

bump for howmuch
:beerjug:

halfords mini spots £25.00, led marker lights approx 75mm by 10mm £25.00,
halfords relay kit 30 amp for mini spots not required for led's, 17 amp cable
and connectors £15.00.
I did not include migsel light bar(off this site) or centech fuze panel (nippynormans) in these prices these items were bought last christmas so all prices will have changed

Cheers fellas, I've PMed How Much for some info:thumb

Well the How Much spot set arrived today:thumb

Fantastic bit of kit at a superb price, very impressed.

The GS is going in for a service on Friday and they'll be fitted then, together with my front Wilbers:clap:clap

Just picked up the GS from Brian Giles at BGM:bow

Just had a full service and had the front Wilbers and How Much spots fitted.

FANTASTIC:clap:clap The spots are absolutely superb, Brian used some loom tape and made sure everything was nice and tidy. They really do work well.

Front shock is excellent too, not as noticeable a difference as when I had the rear done but not tested it properly yet due to the dodgy roads at the moment:rolleyes:

Best bit was getting the shock and spots fitted for free by Brian because he had kept the bike 3 extra days, not a problem as I had been using his loaner:thumb
