i have a set of spotlights for the 10.they are not the yamahas own lights, bought some cheaper LEDs.my question is.
Can I tap into the spare auxiliary light lead.meaning splice the positive and ground wires and connect straight to LEDs or do I need to go via a relay.
The auxiliary lead is fused on the s10.

I believe the aux lead has 3 connections, earth, switched live and always on live. Assuming you don't want them on all the time when riding you will need a switch on the 'bars in line with the switched live wire.

LED's take very little juice and a relay is not normally needed, I happily ran some on my GS from the sat nav supply but its your call.

You can. It don't cut the wires or splice them. Just buy pins to put in the empty plug which is already connected to the six connectors.

The pins connectors are made by sumitomo. You can buy male connectors on eBay and just use the pins to push into the existing connector. Works great.

I did this to power other stuff on my bike such as the Autocom.
