Has anyone sprayed these side panels which go around the tank.
As in picture....

If so how does the finished article look and is there a best way of doing it?

hello mate

i sprayed the silver ones on the gs black like the gsa,

its pretty easy to do,
just took them off and gave them a couple of coats of halfords grey primer, then a couple of coats of halfords satin black paint, then a couple of coats of satin lacquer and came up rather well, cant post pics as im at work but its a pretty easy and straight forward job.

what colour you thinking of doing them?

that should be pretty simple,

you could do it one of 2 ways,
first spray the gs bits in the colour you want and the mask them off and then spray the whole panel gloss black then remove the marsking tape and then give the whole lot a going over with a gloss laquer

or

spray the whole lot black and the use a brush to fill in the gs lettering using somehting like a tyre pen, this may be a bit trickier and you might not get such a good finish on the lettering so i would try the first way, might take longer and youll have to get the masking spot on,

be interested to see the finished product, good luck! :thumb

Did mine last summer. Flatted them off with 3M Scotchbrite, intense black basecoat, followed by 2K Satin Clearcoat. I reckon the finish is as good as original. Attached a pic below.
