Folks,
following the engine swap and re-assembly of my 94 1100 i fired it up the other evening. Everything in the engine dept sounds well. My problem is that there is a squealing sound from the clutch/transmission area. This sound only materialises after the bike has warmed up. When i pull the clutch lever in the sound goes away.Anybody have any ideas as to what my problem is?
Thanks.

Did you change the clutch assembly?.
Did you lube the gearbox input splines?
Does the noise occur when the bike is static or moving?.
One gear or all gears?.
Have you adjusted the clutch actuation/freeplay at the gearbox to the book?.

Go and look for the cat. Has its bowl been touched today ?

Colban,
clutch assy was changed. The splines were greased And it make the noise while stationary, not sure abiut moving.

Bailey,
i was thinking clutch release bearing but the noise goes out of it when the clutch lever is pulled in?

Millard,

if you heard this thing screech, you've done the right thing!!!

Cheers guys.

Sometimes the bearing can be noisy but goes quiet when pressure is on it, like when you pull the clutch lever in.
