When I was there i was looking at some others I noticed a very nice set of RSD rocker box covers in the same style as the air filter.
That will get rid of the alloy covers on the engine and black out that.
He said while he was fitting them I could save a bit of money and have the cams done at the same time as they would have to take all that off.
It made perfect sense at the time.... Good job I'm not married anymore or I would have some explaining to do!

Still at the shop having the rocker covers done and the cams.
Bits i'm really pleased with though are the speedo which is combined rev counter and fuel gauge too. And the side mounting number plate and i had the cut off fender light fitted which just finished off the back end.

Not sure I did the right thing with the rocker covers?
But the clock is first class.
And getting rid of the rear number plate and fitting the cut off light made it look a lot better.

it was all going well until the last pic....
Now that is stunning, the RSD air cleaner....

Looks ok(ish) with small American plates but with uk billboard plates it looks a little odd
Can't you move the number plate closer to the wheel ? It looks like a big air brake that far out. Maybe reduce the size of the plate a little as well ?

the dealer refused to put a small number plate on it. Said the bike has to leave him road legal.

Nice one. Doesn't have to be daft small to make a difference. Move it over a tad as well and bingo you have the cool look.

no the plate folds over and if you move it in it will catch the frame.

Its a long time since i've seen a sportster that i liked, that looks great, loose the billboard at the back.
Those rocker covers are screaming out for a visit to the local engravers, something simple like a row of 48's or a bit of Tribal along the polished ally bit.

I wanted to do something with the shiny bit. I did think about getting it anodised maybe a similar colour to the tank but the anodiser said it would really take because of the heat?
Engraving might be the answer..
