Stainless Wheel Spokes

Anyone know where I can get a set of stainless spokes for my wheels.?

Dealer price is feckin horrendous

Tried everyone and the Devon Rim Company will supply stainless spokes, nipples etc at a sensible price

People seem to run scared at the thought of re doing BMW wheels but a local company want to have a go with my 5 year old 70,000 mile wheels which have some corrosion and need a once over.

They will be powdercoated, have new spokes and bearings and be rebuilt so I'll let everyone know the outcome when they are done

I think its not so expensive for ss material .

why do you need to replace all ? normally OM spoked wheels come with stainless steel , so they are not supposed to rust ?

Because they are being powdercoated, all the spokes have to be removed and it's a bastard of a job. Corrosion can cause the spokes to jam and the thread at one end with the adjusting thingy is slightly bigger than the spoke itself.

The only really good way to get the spokes out it to cut them so that's whats happening. Propably cheaper getting new spokes than the labour in fecking about getting the old ones out

£70 + VAT per wheel for the spokes. They are difficult to clean which is why I don't bother

£168 all in? Not as bad as I feared. I was looking at the Guzzi Stelvio and asked the dealer about the spokes but he was rather uncommital about what they were made of and how long they last

SFX (see above), on the XRV forum posted a thread on wheel builds for Africa Twins and Transalps. Their prices were £60 all in for spokes per wheel (SS) and £99 to strip, powder coat the rims and build. Equals £220 all in for both. Factor in postage (£30 return?) - I guess £250 for a pair of wheels.

See for your self on xrv.org.uk under the transalp bit, i think.

Not sure if GS wheels would cost much more. Worth finding out.
