Standard front shock after market rear ?

Do any of you lot run a standard front shock and an after market on the rear?
The reason I ask is I am a big bloke 6'4", 17-18 stone. When the other half hops on the back (not overweight) and full luggage is added the front end seems very light. Now, I have been thinking of putting a Wilbers rear shock on, built Hard/strong and retaining the front as standard. Will this work, does anyone else have this set up. Pro's and con's please.

try maxton suspension talk to richard on 01928 740531 they sorted the shock when i had my fazer1000, i will be contacting them for my gs when funds allow as i suffer from pie retention to
