Yes there is a BIG difference in standard seat height between the 650 & the 800GSs.
At 5'6" with an inseam of 29" I manage fine on the 800 by sliding to one side or tuther when stationary, as I'm on tip toes other wise.
The 650 is, at a guess, around 1.5 - 2" lower at the saddle, which suits me fine
Go try before you buy, just to be on the safe side
