Hi,

Having just got a 1200GS and not rode one previous Id like to ask members of the forum what their opinions are on the standard lights. I've played around with the adjustments both horizontal and vertical and seem to get the light aim as good as I feel comfortable on unlit roads etc. The problem Ive found is right hand bends, theres not enough light shining on the right side of the road up ahead on main beam. Left hand bends are great as the main beam lights that side up really well. Is this normal or are my headlights misaligned?

Im considering a HID upgrade and have contacted Les and its likely to happen at my next free slot, however not sure if brightening the lights is the solution given the area on the right hand side that doesnt seem to get lit as well as the left?

Can anyone comment on their experiences and if the HID upgrade will help? I was thinking aux lights may help too? Whats your view? Thanks

James

I am a little bias, but I think the answer you will find is that with the main lights alone done Hid it is a vast improvement on the standard light pattern, this goes for the 1150 and the 1200, after that the guys that seem to tour the most go for the three lights to give the triangle of light to be seen better.

And be careful adjusting the lights horizontal and vertical, I have had two light pods now that the adjusters have fowled due to continues adjustment and alterations and had to be replaced, luckily under warranty.

Thanks, yes i was adjusting the vertical adjuster and it came off in my hand in the dark, luckily i didnt loose any of the bits and sorted it the next day in the light.
Thanks, will email you now with optios for lights again, thanks
James
