STANDARD WHEELS ??

Did these 1100's come with alloy wheels ?? i would have thought the earlier bikes had spoked wheels but maybe not ! I'm thinking of bidding on this.

All 1100 GS came with spoke wheels as supplied by BMW

Wheel rims were anodised from 1998 to conquer corrosion issues on earlier plain alloy rims

Those alloys are from a 1150 RT, not the 3 spoke 1100 alloys

Rim sizes are 17/17

Fair bit of corrosion on front cover & rusty bolts are good indicators of condition

As JB says, post 1100 (850, 1150R/RT) 5 spoke wheels, but if you're going for alloys then these are prettier than the 1100 3 spoke offerings.

Looks to be still on the original rubber brake hoses so budget for a set of braided ones.

Good 1100GS are getting harder and harder to find, add in a bit for an anniversary model and it doesnt seem an outrageous price, so far

I fitted the same wheels to my 1100. It makes a great handling bike even better in my opinion. It also makes it a tad lower which is no bad thing and has another advantage in that it doesn`t lean so much on the side stand. Plus they are MUCH easier to clean
