have a lovely letter from him, offering all of his trophies to us, for 30K. I wonder what they would be worth now

Stan donated most of his trophies to the Ulster Transport Museum at Cultra, Co Down, where they are on display from time to time. I used to meet him regularly in the Northern Bank in Downpatrick when I worked in the town, he retired to the area when he sold the business in Dublin. Stan always had time for a yarn about bikes or the latest gossip about local road races, lovely old gent :thumb

Stans the Man

Watched the program last night. Was well impressed.

What a character, what a rider! Well done to whoever put it together!

Watched the programme and was very impressed. I only heard of him for the first time earlier this from my almost 90 year old Dad who knew him in his the army days. He had some stories which were not on the programme.
:blagblah

Was put together by Ulster film maker brothers, Alwyn and Colin James, with a lot of help from Charmaine Wheeler, who I think is Stanley's niece.
Alwyn James said it took a year and a half to sift through the films and photographs, and said he could have made 10 programmes out of them, not just one.

Hi Darkhorse
Some really nice items there...I like especially the TT Toffee one..............:thumb2

quite correct they are at UFTM along with at least one of his bikes...sadly the tubes in charge there took nearly all his stuff off display and its now mouldering away in storage:mad:
