Greggers,
Could you please confirm where pin 1 is as you look at the plug. Some schematics show pin 1 as being the bottom right as you look at.
Thanks for the post as I was desperate to clarify this particular problem.
Many thanks

I use a 5 pin PTT switch with a 5 pin cable. The extension to earphones is also 5 pin. I have 7 pin autocomm headset and wonder if I could get a converter plug to convert the 5 pin to accept the 7 pin autocomm headset?
( I prefer the autocomm headset to the 5 pin cheap speakers )

This is useful info,I changed the mini din Starcom headset connections to the larger standard din as I kept bending the bloody pins.

I have a PP-06 headset (the one with the 3.5mm female jack). Unfortunately it's gone a bit tits up, so I an attempting to fix the wiring. It's really confusing as there are 3 wires from the plug (all coax style). But then it switches to a single coax type wire (which appears to be for the mic) and then two plastic sheathed wires with an unsheathed earth type wire for the speakers.

How does the wiring connect. If I earth none of the speaker wires it makes music, but as soon as I earth one side it is noticeably better and louder on one side. Problem is, I can't see where to earth the other speaker. I can't use the same earth as it shorts and the music stops.

Any help would be gratefully received as I am somewhat confused :nenau
