Doh! ok, wasnt paying attention...
Just got back from collecting mine and looking at the old short block, several chewed out teeth on the flywheel... apparently the cause of it clunking on starting

*sucks teeth* Oooo that sounds expensive sir.......
I ripped a couple of teeth off mine after racing Clive through flooded road (well it had to be done didn't it
) and they had to drop off the whole back end to replace the flywheel.......not an enormous cost in parts but significant labour charges (luckily mine was done under warrenty )Sorry to be the bearer of bad news

No bad news at all.... well not at this point anyway... the whole thing is back together now... the teeth in question where on the old flywheel sitting on the old short block
so yes... expensive sir 
You see, what I dont understand is how you rip these off going through a flooded road??? surely they are only used when the starter engages and they dont do much else except spin with the flywheel the rest of the time??? They aren't in perminant contact with anything are they???
Got to be honest, they dont look all that substantial
