Starter current surge?

Wired up my GSMAP 60Csx directly to the battery and off we went on our hols

To begin with everything was fine, but after a couple of days (?), if I started the bike with the GPS already up and running, the inline fuse would blow

Solved it by turning the thing off everytime I stopped the engine - no big deal but why is this

Come on you wizards, whats goin' on.......

certainly a strange problem.


all i can say is, i've had no problem with the same model gps wired up to the canbus gps socket on the headstock.
