Starter noises

Noticed the last couple of mornings when starting up my 1100 a graunching noise from the starter, sounds like its note disengaging has the engine fires up.

Is it a case of removal and lube or is it the start of something more serious ?

Removal and lube worked for me

Possible note of caution. I thought the best thing to do was to clean it, not add a lubricant which will only attract more muck quicker?

mine did that 12 months ago took the starter off (easy job) cleaned it up and spayed it with ACF-50 (WWW.WORLDWIDEAVIATION.CO.UK) no problem since, the bike had done 34000 at that stage.
