R1100RT '97 the green starter switch seems to be reluctant to make contact in order to spin the motor, if I wriggle my finger a bit then the bike starts, is it possible to clean these switches? its not the starter motor (been there ,done that ) and I don't think its a wire problem, it feels like dirty contacts ?

OK answered my own question, just take off the switch clusters and spray with contact cleaner/lube , all now works fine

Thanks Kenny, I have the same issue. I'll have a go at pulling it apart :thumb2
theres just one screw holding each cluster on, I used switch contact cleaner/lube from Maplin, it even got my hazard light switch working ....and that had been dodgy for years!
