Hi All...... my partner rides a 2005 650, the bike is always plugged into the battery tender when not in use....(not in use means 4 or 5 days). Today it turned over but would not start, there is a funny (vacuum) sound from the front end of the bike. I have noticed that it never seems to start on the first push of the button. I know all this because I have to move it before i can take my 12gs out. New battery maybe??????:confused:

My previous 650 (2003 model) seemed to lose battery power very quickly (we think due to the immobilizer system) and if she wasn't constantly on the Optimate could be a pig to start....:(....used to sound like she'd thrown a spanner in the engine.....
Got a new battery which helped, but didn't completely solve the problem.....needless to say, my new bike doesn't have a factory fitted immobilizer thingy......:bounce1

Check the battery. Some battery tenders ,if connected continually, tend to evaporate the acid leaving the level woefully low.
