Hi, this may sound a bit naff but i have no handbook and having rebuild the engine(1200GSADV) it started imediately, when i tried it today i struggled to start it, it appeared to be weak, and starved of fuel, i guess it has a an auto choke, is there a proceedure for starting? or i wonder if the choke is at fault.

Turn on the ignition, let the Brain Thingy go through its checks. Don't touch throttle or anything - just press the Go button. :thumb

Might be worth resetting the Brain's understanding of the TPS - ignition on, s-l-o-w-l-y wind the throttle round to max, and back. Repeat. Switch off.

I experienced something similar to that on Saturday when I started the bike for the first time in 2 months.

The bike has been on the Optimate so the battery was fine. Prodded the starter and it tried to turn over but wouldn't catch. So I reverted to tactics of old and partially opened the throttle to help it. It worked. I reckon after the long rest the fuel was a bit old or the injection system wasn't too clean so the first thing I did was fill up the tank.

The bike seems to be fine now and started first time yesterday. :thumb2

Hmm, tried it tonight SpyInTheCamp and it still took 7 0r 8 tries before it started, i may try fresh fuel, it's weird when i first built the engine it started perfectly first prod.
