Starting Question

If I turn on my ignition while my bike is in gear, then put it in neutral, the bike won't start - just turns over and over.

If I then turn it off, turn it back on again, it's all fine.

I can understand why it might not want to start in gear, but I haven't actually tried to start it - just turned on the ignition.

Is this normal? I'm not massively concerned, just wondered...

Didn't Triumph's used to do something odd like this, an you had to ensure they where i neutral before turning the ignition on, or the bike got a bit confused.

Owners manual will have the info I would have thought ?

Manual says "It won't start in gear and with the clutch engaged." Nothing about having to be in neutral when you turn on ignition. Does seem to be the situation, though.
