Using windows XP Home Edition and IE 6. Is it possible to configure IE so that the Status Bar is always visible. Currently I have to keep enabling it under the View pull down.

Once selected as visible, it should remain so between sessions

Do you have a possible gremlin?

Dont think so Ian and yes it does stay put under a current session, just wondered if there was a procedure for fixing it permanently visible.

I have had so much trouble with IE6 that I don't use it anymore. I now use Mozilla Firefox and since installing it I have had no problems.

Most of the problems were from spyware and other nasties that IE6 seems to let in,
Mozilla seems to block all of them, thus no more home page hi-jacks and the like.

Worth a try IMO. ;)

Found the solution for this IE6 bug on the internet.

It's:

1) With (only one) IE open, click View and select: Status Bar.
2) Hold down the Ctrl key and click the close button (upper right).
3) Open Windows Explorer, click View and select: Status Bar
4) Click Tools > Folder Options > View tab
5) Click the "Apply to all folders" button.

This appears to work as the default behaviour is to reset it every time.

Unfortunately not all websites display correctly on all the alternative browsers available. They are usually much faster and often easier to use but websites are usually designed and tested to work with Bill's products.
