I've dropped my bike and it seems to have shifted the steering stop more to one side. Its now closer to the bike on the right and has moved the same amount further away on the other side as though there is a collar of some kind that controls the lock and its moved a few mm. :(

Does anyone know where and how to adjust the steering stops?

The bike is actually my 2006 R1200s but I guess its the same set-up as a GS.

I'm getting it serviced next week anyway but would like to have had a go at it myself it is possible.

Its possible that both fork lowers have turned slightly in the lower fork brace, giving the feel of riding slightly sideways. A mates 1150 Adv did this after a small 'off' and a bit of clamp undoing and retorqueing and all was well again. On 1200's the lower fork brace clamping bolts are renowned for being loose from build.

FWIW I fitted some Wunderlich steering stop protector brackets to my 12GS just in case I had a heavy drop when off-road. A simple, well engineered piece of kit IMHO though a bit pricey for what it is (like all farkles).

Don't think its that. I've done 1200 miles since dropping it and the bike handles fine and the steering is as straight as anything. It just seems tighter on full lock on the right-hand side than it should. I have one of those wee devices on my GS - I may see if it fits the S as well - I'm sure it will.
