Stelvio - Castrol test 1970’s

Did you see that Capri bouncing under breaking, we forget how much suspension technology has developed in the last 50 yrs

…………and only one motorbike to be seen!

I liked the fellow on the scooter.

A former friend of mine has only one functioning arm, his left. He converts his bikes himself to ‘left hand drive’ moving the throttle to the left. The front brake lever is redundant, so he adapts the foot brake. He rode with us up and down the Stelvio. The only concession he asked was that I take his granddaughter up and down again on my 1600, which I did quite happily for him.

That’s him on the left, his granddaughter’s the one with the dramatic hair:

I rode his converted bike; it is bloody hard. It is also very hard to counter steer with only one functioning arm, without closing and opening the throttle, which you are operating with your left hand.

Happy days.
