Finally gotten round to putting some in line fuses to my spot lamps. This is a known problem area in so much as the wiring eventually rubs through and shorts on the body of the lamp. Looks like poor lamp design, but I think I can improve it.

So, that's two electrical items on the Stelvio that can lead to the bike failing.

Where are they both made ? It aint China, it aint Spain, it aint the UK, it's Germany !!!

When I fitted in-line fuses to the Hella fogs on my new NTX I could see that the wiring was already chaffing on the casing. As the lamps are dealer fit it was clearly down to the dealer (who was rubbish anyway) not following the (very clear) fitting instruction in the Hella installation manual (which came with the bike).
As there are also reports of the Hella's causing fracturing of the mounting brackets I replaced them with some nice LED units which are smaller & lighter, brighter and draw less current.
