Hi everyone,

I've just discovered how poor the OEM horn is and am considering upgrading to a Stener Nautilus having read many reviews. I can't find anyone who has done the deed on a 1200.

Can anyone shed any light on if there is enough room ...

Cheers,

Mark

Lofty,

I think you will find that it's called a Stebel Nautilus.

Just use the search facility and you should find plenty of info.

(Nautilus, very appropriate for a submariner :thumb2)

Yep plenty of room - as Mike said, do a search - there are plenty of threads on how to fit / what to watch out for etc....

because of the canbus it is recommended not to use the nautilus, but use the magnum instead, which is still a whopping 136dB

I bought the nautilus then found it was a bigger job to fit it than I could be bothered with so went out and got the magnum which took ten minutes to fit and it is a big improvement over the oem one :thumb

Holy smokes Batman! I just did a youtube search for the nautilus, I can only imagine the magnum is good too. That'll be what I'm fettling with tomorrow then :D:D

Why do all bikes seem to have lame horns anyway.

Althought if you have a Halfords on your way home you'll save a few squids on the postage:thumb

That, Sir, I have to concede is a very fair point. :) In fact, it's such a fair point I might even be persuaded to enter into the dreaded Halfrauds to buy one... Dammit!

By the way, does anyone know the difference between the Stebel Magnum (£13) and the Stebel Magnum 80 (£11)? They seem to be the same size and have the same decibel rating - 136.

Stebel Magnum, Loud Enough - Yes, Easy to Fit - No (considering you have to butcher the wiring loom). Had mine on the shelf for weeks before getting up the courage to chop off the original wiring Plug. Still makes me wince.
Mike Tee.
