Sticking lower shock mount - removal.

Afternoon peeps, just a quick question is it easy\straight forward to remove the rear shock lower mounting bush on an 1100GS.

Any clues or pointers would be very welcome.

C'mon folks just one at a time please.

I could really do with some help\advise re this bush thingy - its the one thats sits in the swing arm that the shock mounting bolt goes through.

The reason i'm asking is I've just had to have the rear wilbers unit repaired (it had dropped all the preload oil).

Nick from REVS called and mentioned the seal had been damaged and normally that was caused through the bush seizing which stopped the shock rotating slightly, consequently forcing the suspension rod against the seals causing the fault. Naturally i don't want to put it all back together and have the same problem in 6 mths time hence the question.

Any help\advice would be most welcome.

I had mine out recently and noticed that the bush was seized because I also believe it is supposed rotate freely. Now, I have another job to do because your thread has made me look up THIS.

I suppose it will not do any harm to get the bush out, give it a polish and apply some lube.

We're talking about the bush in the swingarm. Not the bush on the shock..

Is it supposed to rotate or is it simply the bolt that rotates within the bush?

Looking at pics of the bush it looks like a rubber mounted bush.
