Highways chiefs have said they will try out sticky rock salt as part of their work to keep roads in Cumbria open during the winter.

The trial will involve adding molasses to the salt which should make it stick to roads for longer and cut the number of times they need to be treated.

That mix has been used around here over the years.

And what a nasty, sticky ,gloopy shite it is.

Makes a right royal mess of bare ally....corrosive as feck.
 
didn,t they use it in N. Wales last year ??....then found the effin sheep were all over the roads eating the stuff????:blast:confused:

Should be ok in Cumbria then, not like there are many sheep in Cumbria is it ????????????????????? :nenau
