*STOLEN* F800GS 09 YELLOW with Extras

Hi All,

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

My F800GS was stolen sometime in the second half of this week while I was away on business. Just walked in this evening to see it gone.

It is the Yellow/Black 09 model Reg WJ09BXN
With ABS, heatd grips, Alarm - which obviously did no good.
It had a few extras of note:

Sargent seat with grey trim - just bought from a member here and never got to use it
Akropovix BMW Exhaust
Rugged Roads Healight Protector
Garmin 660 Cradle with Canbus socket
Vario Topbox and LHS pannier - the right wasn't on the bike
The varios had a very expensive sleeping bag inside from Fairydown in NZ - I am mad at myself for leaving it in.

Sorry to hear that mate. Where abouts are you in London?

The bike was stolen from Windsor and was parked in a dead end court, so makes you wonder about your neighbours a bit!
 
So did they get the keys?

If not, they may attempt to get spares from a dealer and that will automatically be flagged at BMW(GB) who will notify police.

If they don't want keys, the bike will be broken for parts (assuming that it wasn't wheeled away by kids).

I'd advise you to go to the nearest woods or wasteland where kids hang-out and look for what's left of your bike in places where it may have been dumped (once they've trashed the ignition trying to hot-wire it).
 
Very sorry to hear this! I've lost two bikes to thieving :censor:, so I know the gutting feeling.

I'll keep my eyes out for any suspicious activities.
 
That is totally crap... Bastards!!
I will kepp an eye open in the north staffs area. Going over to Southport tomorrow on my 800 so I will lookout on the M6 !

I hope you get it back soon, and I hope its not trashed!
 
not to rub salt, but my neighbour in central London had his black and yellow lifted off his off street parking location last year. The location was the off street staff parking at Paddington Police Station!!! in Paddignton green (admittedly a rough area) That was a 3 wk old bike... stolen from a bloody Police Station! Some guts these buggers have.

Apparently those 800GS are deemed super cool bikes and (like duc monsters) are very nickable.


As you are in London, it is still likely a joyride crime ( I wonder how they can start them without the key), and , at some point, you will get a severely molested bike back that the insurance will insist on fixing, and thus will never been the same as before.....
 
This happened to me last year. To be honest you have a good chance of the police finding it. BMW maintain a very good database so if it was stolen to sell then it's only any use in spares but it's more likely it was stolen by joy-riders who will never get it started but will smash it up trying. I speak from unfortunate experience. Like you, mine had extras that were never seen again or compensated for. My bike lives in my living room now.
