My laptop with full itunes library was stolen last night so all I have is what's on my ipod - any ideas how I can get my music off the ipod to "refill" the empty copy of itunes on my new laptop - hope this makes sense!

I think its something like that, but you have to enable the "show all hidden files tab" somewhere

I think it's harder than that as the iPod is meant to use the DRM to stop you giving your music to all your buddies
When I had a similar problem, I bought copyPod - a downloadable utility which allows you to retrieve the music. I think it is about 20 US Dollars.
Most important, be careful when connecting to iTunes that syncing is not set to auto otherwise it will simply wipe it clean!
