My XT225 Serow was stolen from a garden in York last night. Sadly, I wasn't there and am reliant on someone else for information.

Reg: K256 NES
Standard format - white with a blue seat and decals
brand new michelin AC10 tyres and a noisy exhaust

If you're in the area, please look out for it & if you hear of parts for sale, please let me or the police know. The bike is datatagged.

Apologies if you've read this elsewhere but I'm spreading the word in the vague hope I'll get it back

Bummer, which area of York?

Near Haxby. Evidence has been found that it was taken along the old canal track towards Strensall :(

Moody - I like the boots - they're comfortable & I'm used to walking weirdly now! Just hope I get the Serow back (or another bike) soon so I can try them out again!

Sorry to hear about the theft, hope someone finds it and I'll keep an eye out.

Not that it's any consolation to Elle but I was pulled over near Clifton Moor a couple of weeks ago when I was taking my G450 in to Barrie Robson's for a recall. I was told that there is an ongoing problem in that area with dirt bike thefts and I was being pulled over to check I hadn't nicked it, so anyone else in that area be warned.

Hi Elaine, sorry to hear about Billy. I have had bikes stolen in the past, and it is certainly not a nice feeling. Thieves are the scum of society. As a policeman once told me they all steal of each other as well. What a sad way to live! Best Wishes, Jonathan.

Most small bikes and off road bikes are nicked by kids to raz around fields etc. I would take a big stick and go for a walk around the area where it has gone from. Check favourite rough ground for field bikes, and check bushes on the perimiter as bikes are frequently hidden in them for use later.
it would be unusual for a bike like this to go further than a mile from the point of theft, as if it is kids they will have had to walk / cycle to the place of theft.
I would also put an advert with the pic on ebay so that any potential purchasers of this type of bike can be allerted, which could also help you get it back.

Good luck.

Good / Bad News
The Serow has been found but not in a very good state.
I went to see it to cost up the repairs & sadly there are 2 major items which cannot be fixed and are expensive to replace (If they can be found!)
So I've handed the bike over to the insurer :(

Oh dear, thats a shame, always awful when some twat takes your bike. I can only offer my best wishes to you. :(

Hopefully you will be able to find and afford another bike soon.
