Bugger. I've a stone chip about a third of the way out from the centre on the dipped beam side. The chip's not cracked the glass, but it's chipped about the size of a small pea out of the surface.

is it an MOT failure??? I don't *think* it's affected the beam pattern but googleing forums gives mixed advice.... So I thought I'd ask again....

as far as I'm aware, as long as it doesn't change the beam pattern or make the light structure unsound, you should be okay.

I had one on my 1100GS a few years back and the chip had fallen inside th elamp so I glued in back in position, pointed it out the the MOT guy and he said it would have been okay as long as it met the above criteria

Ta! I'll risk it I think - I'd rather spend the cash on tyres at the moment...

My GS has a crack right across my dip beam glass, been like it for the last 4 MOTs, passed OK each time. But I do go to a good MOT station.:augie
