Riding home on recently purchased Varadero 1000xl and the red light FI came on followed by intermittent engine failure like petrol starvation. This was on dual carraigeway with no hard shoulder with a lorry up my arsk:mad::mad:

I managed to pull to the side and limped off, thinking that I had run out of fuel, but a quick hip shake and slopping tank said otherwise.

Started up and got home gingerly with no further problems.

Not having yet bought a manual, can anyone advise what the problem is likely to be? Ta:beerjug::beerjug:

Maybe bad fuel after being parked up, I doubt it though... They are good bikes I am sure someone will know. or join the very exciting XRV club....

First thing I do is to check the main connector into the ECU.

I had a spare key cut and programmed in today by Honda, and they said they had problems getting the ECU to recognise the new key and had to clean up the contacts, so I suspect they have caused this somehow. Thanks for the suggestion which made the link.:beerjug:
